UNMITIGATED GAUL: NAPOLEON writes to his Minister of War on the day Prussia declared war on France

LS signed “Np.,” one page both sides, 7.25 x 9, March 17, 1813. Napoleon writes from Trianon to the Duc de Feltre, the French Minister of War, on the organization of the Army in Italy. Late in the previous year, Napoleon returned to Paris following the disastrous French retreat from Russia. On the day he signed this letter, Prussia declared war on France. Accompanied by an antique portrait engraving. Pinholes and mild handling wear, otherwise fine, bright condition. R&R COA.
