Description

Henry Miller

Author (1891–1980) best known for such sexually charged classics as Tropic of Cancer and the Rosy Crucifixion trilogy. Though his writings were long banned in the U.S. and elsewhere, he has since come to be recognized as one of the major figures of twentieth-century literature. ALS, one page both sides, 8.5 x 5.5, personal letterhead, May 25, 1978. Miller writes to biographer and journalist Jonathan Cott. In full: “Thank you for your new book—’Forever Young.’ I just finished reading the chapter on yourself and it brings back vividly to memory the day you came here with your little note book and peppered me with delicious questions. I am still writing and painting—recently won first prize in an international art show held in Tel Aviv! Gave me quite a thrill. I hope your book sells thousands of copies. You are a ‘master’ in your realm. Have been interviewed by many before and after you, but none like you. Will always remember the day! God bless you!” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. In fine condition. R&R COA.
