In full: “I shall be happy to comply with your request and am enclosing my new shoulder sleeve insignia [not present]. Thank you so much for your good wishes.” Also included is a vintage ink signature, “[Sir Arthur] Tedder,” (1890–1967; Deputy Supreme Commander under Eisenhower) on a card with affixed postage stamp, as well as a 1945 TLS from Kay Summersby (1908–1975; Ike’s personal driver and secretary with whom he carried on an affair from 1942–45), sending thanks on Ike’s behalf to a well wisher. Accompanied by the original mailing envelopes for the letters.
