Description

Frederick the Great

King of Prussia (born 1712) from 1740 until his death in 1786. His political prowess and enlightened attitudes toward religion, learning, and the humanities earned him the sobriquet “Frederick the Great.” LS in German, signed “F.,” one page, 7.5 x 9.25, October 1753. Frederick writes to his privy counselor. In part (translated): “Look into the circumstances of the petitioner and report to me whether the concession can be granted….” Removably presented on a collector’s sheet with images and historical information, including a vintage postcard and postage stamps. Mild soiling and faint scattered staining, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
