A promissory note in the amount of $1,146.00, issued to his brother-in-law and second Treasurer of the United States, Samuel Meredith, who has also signed. In very good condition overall, with allover toning, intersecting folds (lightly touching a few letters of signature), a few small chips and tears, and faint show-through of docket on reverse behind signature.
