Partly printed DS as president, one page on vellum, 10 x 7, June 29, 1841. An appointment for Charles E. Fleming as a passed midshipman in the Navy. Countersigned by Geo. E. Badger as secretary of the Navy. The embossed seal remains intact at lower left. In fair condition, with wrinkling and vertical folds, scattered holes and marginal losses (hole between “y” and “l” of signature, possibly original to sheet) and scattered soiling.
