In part: “Shall be glad to have the five hundred thousand dollars but if convenient would prefer New York funds.”; and one page TLS, signed “C. Vanderbilt,” dated Jan 7, 1896, to the president of the Boston and Albany Railroad Company, regarding the purchase of 25,000 shares of the company’s stock for $500,000. Also included is a vintage ink signature of Chauncey DePew,” on an off-white card. In very good condition, with toning and slightly fuzzy signature to TLS, and damp staining and folds to ALS. R&R COA.
