American soldier and statesman (1739–1812) who served as Governor of New York and vice president in the Jefferson and Madison administrations. Partly printed DS, signed “Geo. Clinton,” one page, 18.25 x 11.25, July 8, 1790. A grant for a parcel of land issued to Walter Barrager. The large pendant seal remains affixed with a ribbon at the lower edge. In very good condition overall, with intersecting folds (partial separations and small holes to text; vertical fold to last name) and faint scattered staining and mild soiling. R&R COA.
