Composer and bandleader (1854–1932) whose marches take a place among the most familiar works in the history of American music. In 1892, Sousa formed his own band and toured throughout the United States and Europe, in the process becoming one of the best-known musical personalities of the day. Vintage glossy 7 x 9 photo of Sousa in a Shriner’s fez, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Mr. Bernard G.
