Description

Irish author (1847–1912) best known for his horror classic Dracula. Henry Irving (1838–1905) was a prominent British stage actor who was the first of his profession to be knighted. LS, signed “H. Irving,” written in the hand of his secretary, Dracula author Bram Stoker, one page, 4.5 x 5.75, Lyceum Theatre letterhead, July 1874. Brief letter to an unidentified gentleman. Stoker pens the body, in full, “With much pleasure & all good wishes. Faithfully yours.” Matted with a portrait of Stoker, to an overall size of 14.5 x 10. Single horizontal and vertical fold, and scattered toning and foxing, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
