Description

Vintage fountain pen signature and inscription, “To Lilly, The ‘Snake Man’ has his eye on you!! Sincerely, Lionel Atwill,” on a light yellow album page, dated January 1933; and a vintage fountain pen signature and inscription, “To Lily - Good luck and best wishes always, Randolph Scott,” on an off-white album page. Both are matted together with a color reproduction poster for Murders in the Zoo, to an overall size of 21 x 19. Originally obtained by Hollywood hair stylist Lily Dirigo, who worked for Universal and other movie studios and counted many celebrities among her friends and clients; the signature comes directly from her estate. Her best-known (though uncredited) job was as stylist for the multiple-Oscar winning film Around the World in Eighty Days. Dirigo’s daughter, Carmen, was also an award-winning stylist who worked on such classics as The Killers and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. In fine condition. R&R COA.
