Vintage fountain pen signature and inscription, “To Lily, The one and only best wishes always, W. C. Fields,” on a light yellow album page. Matted with a color photo of Fields from one of his films, to an overall size of 12 x 18. Originally obtained by Hollywood hair stylist Lily Dirigo, who worked for Universal and other movie studios and counted many celebrities among her friends and clients; the signature comes directly from her estate. Her best-known (though uncredited) job was as stylist for the multiple-Oscar winning film Around the World in Eighty Days. Dirigo’s daughter, Carmen, was also an award-winning stylist who worked on such classics as The Killers and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.
