Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Hampshire (1729–1795). Partly printed DS, one page, 13.75 x 11.75, September 9, 1793. An appointment for Jonathan Rendall as an ensign in the Seventh Regiment of New Hampshire Militia. Countersigned by several others. The embossed paper seal remains intact at upper left. In poor condition, with allover evident toning, intersecting folds with document affixed to same-sized sheet, separations (associated holes and chips), soiling and staining, chips and holes, and extensive marginal loss at bottom edge (affecting countersignatures). Apart from some toning and staining, not affecting legibility, the dark signature itself rates about very good. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
