Harvard grad student KISSINGER writes to Pulitzer Prize author Robert Penn Warren

Highly controversial, Nobel Peace Prize–winning intellectual and diplomat (born 1923) who served variously as National Security Advisor and Secretary of State in the Nixon and Ford administrations. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Harvard University Confluence [journal] letterhead, October 17, 1952. Kissinger, then a graduate student and editor of Confluence, writes to Robert Penn Warren at Yale. In part: “We are sending you the enclosed review, which we believe might prove of interest to you. This is a quarterly designed to foster the genuine interchange of ideas and to make the discussion available to as many interested persons as possible. Each issue deals with two problems of contemporary interest in politics, philosophy and the humanities and it confront American and European views in symposium form…. After having read our review, we should appreciate any suggestions you care to make regarding the basic approach of this review, possible topics for discussion, and suitable contributors….” Mild handling wear and some marginal wrinkling, otherwise fine condition.
