DS, two pages, 8.5 x 13, January 3, 1968. An historic moment in music, as Michael Clarke, “in the best interests of all concerned,” resigns from the legendary band. Clarke agrees to give up his 1/3 interest in the group, leaves with his equipment and royalties, and allows McGuinn and Hillman to continue using the band’s name while agreeing not to use it for his own benefit. Signed at the conclusion by all three band members. In fine condition, with corner creases, folds, and expected staple and punch holes, and Clarke’s signature ironically just a bit lighter than McGuinn’s and Hillman’s. A one-of-a-kind piece of rock-and-roll history. COA Roger Epperson/REAL and R&R COA.
