Refusing to carry out Nixon’s order to fire special prosecutor Archibald Cox, Richardson, together with deputy William Ruckelshaus, resigned his office during the notorious “Saturday Night Massacre.” Souvenir typescript, one off-white page, 8.5 x 11, signed in blue felt tip at the conclusion.
