Great glossy 8 x 10 head-and-shoulders photo, signed vertically in blue ballpoint along the left edge. The consignor notes that signature was originally acquired as Disney was serving as the Grand Marshal of the Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena in 1966. A few months before appearing in the parade, Disney held a press conference officially announcing his plans for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Disney’s involvement in the development of Disney World ended in late 1966 when, after many years of chain smoking, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. On November 30, Disney collapsed in his home, but was revived by paramedics, and was taken back to the hospital, where he died on December 15. Some scattered light creases and surface marks, otherwise fine condition. A most pleasing example boasting a large, bold signature! PSA/DNA Auction LOA and R&R COA.
