Description

American statesman (1871–1955) who served as Secretary of State under Franklin Roosevelt for 11 years and who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1945 for his role in establishing the United Nations. Partly printed DS, one page, 16.75 x 13.75, November 6, 1933. An appointment for William B. Douglass, Jr. as vice consul at Tenerife, Canary Islands. The embossed paper seal remains intact at lower left. Vertical fold, and a few very subtle smudges and wrinkles, otherwise fine, bright condition. R&R COA.
