His political prowess and enlightened attitudes toward religion, learning, and the humanities earned him the sobriquet “Frederick the Great.” LS in French, signed “Frederic,” one page, 7.25 x 9, September 27, 1768. Frederick writes from Potsdam to his nephew, Prince Frederic of Brunswick, sending thanks for a letter, mentioning the Comtesse de Skorzewska, and alluding to his nephew’s upcoming journey. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (away from signature; pinhole at intersection), light soiling with a few faint spots, and mild wrinkling and handling wear. R&R COA.
