Description

WOODWIND OF CHANGE: Saxophone played and signed by President CLINTON during his 1996 reelection campaign

Personally played LeBlanc alto saxophone, 22″ in length, serial # 25603, signed in silver ink as president “Bill Clinton.” The saxophone was originally offered in a silent auction at a presidential fund raiser in Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 14, 1996. It is reported that Clinton played a quick ditty on this sax just before it went up on the block. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the wife of the winner of the sax. In part: “This saxophone was won by my husband and myself at a democratic fundraiser…. Pres. Clinton humored the crowd’s request for a tune as this saxophone went up for a bid.” One of the signature moments of Clinton’s first presidential campaign was his 1992 sax-playing “gig” on the Arsenio Hall show. A letter of authenticity from James Spence is also included. In fine condition overall, with small dent near bottom from an accidental drop by the original owner, and scattered light tarnishing and surface marks. R&R COA.
