Massachusetts lawyer (1744–1775) who successfully defended the soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre and who participated in the meeting at which the Boston Tea Partty was organized. Manuscript DS, signed “J. Quincy,” two pages both sides, 6.5 x 8.25, October 6, 1772. A legal brief outlining a case involving “cattle … [who] were eating the grass in the sd: place … & so doing damage there….” In very good condition, with scattered light soiling, toning, and staining, a few tiny separations to folds, and light show-through of ink.
