Austrian actor (1910–1973) best known for his role as Sgt. Schultz on the Nazis-as-lovable-clowns sitcom Hogan’s Heroes. Banner himself, a Jew, was transported to a concentration camp during World War II and released before the Nazis’ wide-scale extermination policies were implemented. Matte-finish 5 x 7 photo of Banner as Schultz, signed and inscribed in ballpoint, “To F. L. Mirel, Best wishes, John Banner.” A few very faint creases (one touching one letter of last name), and a few impressions to helmet, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
