Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Georgia (1741–1804) who later served as that state’s chief justice, governor, and senator. Ink signature, “Geo. Walton,” on 2.25 x 1 slip inlaid to a 4.75 x 6.75 portrait engraving, in turn inlaid into a larger sheet. In very good condition, with light soiling and show-through from mounting traces to reverse, and repaired vertical separation through “o” of first name.
