In part: “In his Sept. 14 column, my No. 1 fan, Jack O’Brian, hit a new vitriolic low by suggesting that Marlo Lewis, now producing the Perry Como Show skillfully, was forced off our show by me for family reasons. I sent O’Brian the facts instantly but three days have passed and my bitchy friend has not referred to the correction, so just for the record and as a point of possible future reference, I’m sending you … quotes from the letter of resignation which Marlo sent dated February 15, 1960…. In my letter to O’Brian, I said that: ‘Marlo would be the first to tell you that he had no part in shaping the show…. Marlo will tell you that I treated him liberally, as I’ve treated everyone on the show. He was paid $2,326 net per show. Some of this was deferred, at his own request, and he will continue to get $350 per week until the funded money is paid in full to him….” Light handling wear, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
