Description

Son of auto pioneer Henry Ford (1893–1943) who succeeded his father as head of the Ford Motor Company. His name will forever be associated with the eponymous 1958–60 Ford model that went down as one of the greatest and most costly failures in automotive history. TLS, one page, 6.75 x 8.75, personal letterhead, December 2, 1940. Ford writes to Basil O’Connor, FDR’s former law partner, in New York City. In part: “I have received your letter … enclosing a copy of your address at the First Annual Medical Meeting of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. I am very glad to have this, and I shall read it with a great deal of interest….” Mild handling wear, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
