American military officer and statesman (1811–1891) who served as the first Governor of Minnesota and later assumed a leading role in the Dakota War of 1862. Engraved certificate for two shares of stock in the Minnesota Gold Mining Company issued to Walter W. Webb, 11 x 6.5, March 19, 1866, signed “H. H. Sibley” as president.
