Scottish novelist and poet (1771–1832) best known for such classics as Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, and Waverley. ALS signed “Walter Scott,” one page, 4.75 x 5.25, no date. Scott writes to Mr. B— inviting him to the “curriers parade … for their annual party.” Matted and framed with a portrait engraving to an overall size of 19.25 x 14.75. The backing bears the wax seal and early label of the renowned dealer Charles Hamilton. In very good, bright condition, with intersecting folds (vertical fold to first name; a few tiny separations) and allover wrinkling. R&R COA.
