Description

American statesman (1731–1821) who served as mayor of Philadelphia and a member of the Continental Congress, in which capacity he voted against the Declaration of Independence. Scalloped-top manuscript DS, signed “Tho. Willing,” one page, 23 x 16.75, June 3, 1796. A quitclaim deed for a parcel of land “situate on the east side of Fourth Street between Walnut and Spruce Streets” in Philadelphia. Countersigned by Edw. Shippen. Intersecting creases, mild wrinkling, and a few light stains, no faults affecting the signature, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
