Description

American soldier and statesman (1717–1795) who fought in the French and Indian Wars, was a general in the Revolutionary War, and later served as a Pennsylvania delegate to the Continental Congress. Partly printed DS, one page, 15.5 x 12, April 8, 1786. An appointment for Persifor Frazer as Register for the probate of wills in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The document is also signed by Charles Biddle, president [governor] of Pennsylvania. The embossed paper seal remains affixed at upper left. In good condition, with intersecting folds (partial separations with tape reinforcements to reverse), light wrinkling, staining, and toning, and tape-repaired tear to blank portion at lower left. The signatures are dark and clear. R&R COA.
