Description

One Signer to another

Pennsylvania-born signer of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution (1734–1806). LS signed “Robt. Morris,” one page, 7.25 x 9, August 28, 1782. Morris writes to fellow Signer William Whipple of New Hampshire. In full: “I have received your favors dated at Portsmouth the 5th & 12th Instant. I hope you will receive a considerable Payment from the Sales of the Beef you have mentioned. I have full Reliance on your Exertions in every Instance to promote the public Good, and I hope your Endeavours to gain Information may be successful….” A few wrinkles and marginal ink blot, otherwise fine, clean condition.
