In part: “I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your favor … inviting me … to deliver an address at Pittsburg on the occasion of the Twelfth Annual Celebration of Founder’s Day…. In reply I beg to say that would give me much pleasure to accept this invitation if I had the time, but I have made all the engagements during the months of April and May that it will be possible for me to keep….” A hint of mild soiling and handling wear, otherwise fine condition.
