Description

TLS as president signed “D. E.,” one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, April 29, 1957. Ike writes from Augusta, Georgia to Arthur S. Flemming, president of Ohio Wesleyan University. In part: “Thanks for sending me the speech by John Vorys. I enclose a copy of a note I sent to him. I trust that your return to academic life has proved interesting and enjoyable for both you and your family. At the same time I hope that you won’t forget your old friends in Washington—especially the White House….” A carbon of the note Eisenhower alludes to is stapled to the letter. In fine condition, with “extra” mailing fold, light paperclip impression to top edge, and small ink squiggle to upper right corner. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
