Description

British minister and social reformer (1829–1912) best known as the founder and first “General” of the Salvation Army. Booth’s zealous efforts were strikingly immortalized in the 1914 song “General William Booth Enters Heaven” by avant-garde American composer Charles Ives. Matte-finish sepia 3.25 x 5 postcard photo, signed in ink in the lower border. In very good condition, with adhesive remnant at lower right of image, mild soiling, and light silvering to dark portions. R&R COA.
