Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Pennsylvania (1724–1777). Manuscript DS, one page, 12 x 7.5, August 29 [1767]. A “true copy” of a summons for a court case involving payment of a debt. Morton was then Sheriff of Chester County, Pennsylvania. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (associated small holes and separations), old tape repair to fold splitting on reverse, faint creases (touching signature), and mild soiling.
