The document retains a portion of its original wax seal. 2) Manuscript DS in French, signed “Louis” [XIV], one page on vellum, 21 x 7.25, February 6, 1684, An untranslated official document mentioning the Consul of the city of Montpelier. 3) LS in French, signed “Louis” [XV], one page, 9.5 x 14.25, June 19, 1745. An untranslated letter to M. de Stainville, Colonel of the King’s Regiment of Navarre, during the War of the Austrian Succession. The first item is fair, with heavy creasing, soiling, and wrinkling, and large cut cancellation to blank portion at bottom right; the signature is dark and distinct. The second item is also fair, with heavy creases and wrinkles (touching signature), staining and toning, and similar cut cancellation; the signature is dark and distinct. The third item is very good, with marginal cut cancellations and associated tears touching a few words of text, intersecting folds, and light wrinkling and soiling. R&R COA.
