The eldest son of George III, he alienated his subjects with his prodigious spending and contemptuous treatment of his wife Queen Caroline, whom he refused to admit to his coronation. ALS as prince signed “George P,” one page, 7 x 8.75, July 14, 1809. George writes to Yarmouth. In part: “Faithful to my word I send you your tickets for Mrs. B—’s tonight….” In fair to good condition, with intersecting folds (light vertical fold to signature), staining, soiling, and a few tears and separations (tape reinforcements to reverse).
