ALS, signed “William Henry Harrison,” one page both sides, 7.75 x 12.5, March 22, 1813. Harrison writes from Headquarters, Cincinnati to Colonel A. D. Orr. In part: “I have … arrived from Franklinton & Chillicothe & finding that Major Jenkinson was to set out for St. Mary's I write this to apprise you that a detachment of about 80 militia set out from Franklinton a few days ago for St. Mary's & out this day 100 men of the 19th U.S. Regt. will commence … from Chillicothe for the same destination. it is my intention that both these detachments descend … to the Rapids. You will therefore be pleased to prepare for them the means of descending…. They can take down as much flour[?] as the boats you have will be able to carry….” Narrow mounting remnants to two edges of reverse (well away from any writing), light intersecting folds (a few pinholes), faint show-though of ink, a touch of mild soiling, and expert archival repair to small marginal loss, otherwise fine condition.
