Two days after his election as VP

TLS, one page, 7 x 10.25, Executive Department, Boston letterhead, November 4, 1920. Coolidge, then governor and vice president elect, writes to Clare Babbitt in Rochester, New York. In full: “It was exceedingly thoughtful of you to send me such a gracious message. I want to thank you for your kind wishes which I assure you I reciprocate….” The 1920 election, in which Warren G. Harding and Coolidge were selected as president and vice president, took place two days earlier, on November 2. A touch of mild wrinkling and soiling, and mailing fold just touching tops of initials, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
