Description

Legendary organized crime leader. Lansky was the godfather of the national crime syndicate that emerged in the early 1930s as successor of the warring Prohibition gangs as well as the old-line Mafia. Forming friendships and alliances with Lucky Luciano and Bugsy Siegel, Lansky directed Murder, Inc. Bank check, 6.25 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Lansky, payable to Monmouth Consolidated Water for $24.07, June 1, 1939. In fine condition, with expected cancellation holes and stamps, with one stamp directly above signature, a couple trivial edge tears, and slight show-through from a stamp on reverse, under portion of first name of signature.
