Land grant for Alabama’s first permanent state capital

Partly printed DS as president, one page on vellum, 15.5 x 10, May 17, 1831. A grant for a parcel of land at Cahaba, Alabama, issued to Thomas K. Jarratt. The embossed paper seal remains intact at lower left. Cahaba, now a ghost town, was the first permanent state capital of Alabama (1820–1826). In very good condition, with vertical folds (one through “A”), mild soiling, toning, and wrinkling, and a few tiny holes. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
