German field Marshall, nicknamed The Desert Fox for his tactical genius as Commander of the Afrika Korps. In 1944 he was implicated in a plot to assassinate Hitler; given the choice of suicide or trial, he took poison. War-dated DS, in German, signed “Rommel,” one page, 8.25 x 11.75, June 14, 1939. Untranslated document signed while Head of the Nazi Tank Academy, boldly signed at the conclusion in pencil by Rommel. In fine condition, with single horizontal fold and a couple of punch holes.
