Partly printed DS as president, one page, 8 x 10, October 24, 1857. A document authorizing the secretary of state to affix the Seal of the United States to a pardon granted to Patrick Phillips. In very good condition, with chips to edges and losses to two corners (well away from text and signature), small edge tears (one near but not touching signature) and light wrinkling and handling wear.
