Description

Seminal and highly lauded French sculptor (1840–1917) whose works, including the iconic “The Kiss” and “The Thinker,” earned him a place among the most influential artistic figures of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Unsigned ANS in French, on both sides of his personal calling card , 3.5 x 1.75, April 29, 1908. Brief note to an unidentified lady. In full, “I will be expecting you, Mademoiselle, on Sunday morning, in Meudon. The best train is the 9:43 out of the Invalides train station. Get off at the ‘Meudon Val Fleuri.” Rodin has crossed out his pre-printed address at the bottom and added, “‘Villa des Brilliants’ Meudon.” In fine condition. R&R COA.
