ALS, one page, 4.25 x 7, January 13, 1889. Stanley writes to an unknown recipient. In full: “You little gift has come safely to hand. I beg you to accept my very best thanks for your thoughtful attention to me and to believe me very faithfully yours….” In very good condition, with light scattered soiling and handling wear, and both instances of recipient’s name blotted out (subtle separations to sheet from ink erosion).
