A tiny flown piece of gold “Kapton” foil from the Apollo 11 Columbia Command Module, contained in a small pouch affixed to an 8.5 x 11 informational sheet describing the nature and purpose of the material, signed at the conclusion, “Buzz Aldrin.” Also included is another, larger piece of the foil, of somewhat irregular rectangular shape and measuring approximately 2.5 x 1.25, together with a copy of a certificate signed by Robert E. Miner of the North American Rockwell Apollo Launch Team. In part: “This is to certify that this swatch of gold foil was recovered from the Columbia Command Module by Ozzie Reid, North American Rockwell Recovery Team, aboard the U.S.S. Hornet and presented to me.” In fine condition. Kapton foil remnants of this larger size are quite uncommon. R&R COA.
