Russian physiologist (1849–1936) best known for his investigation of conditioned reflex through the use of experiments involving salivating dogs. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1904. Original German-language offprint of Pavlov’s article titled “Ein Neues Laboratorium zur Erforschung Der Bedingten Reflexe” (Wiesbaden: Verlag von J. F. Bergmann, 1911), printed wraps, 6.5 x 9.75, 24 pages, signed in ink on the front, “Vom Verfasser [By the author].” Faint vertical fold (very slightly touching signature), and ink notations and library stamps (stamp to first word of signature; previous owner’s ink name very close to second word), otherwise fine condition.
