Pulitzer Prize–winning American writer (1896–1953) best known for her Florida-set classics The Yearling and Cross Creek. Signed book: The Yearling. First edition, first printing (with “A” to copyright page). NY: Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1938. Hardcover, 6 x 8.25, 428 pages. Signed and inscribed in ink on the front free end page, “To my brother Arthur’s good friends—Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Stephenson, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, Florida 1939.” A touch of light staining to front joint of cover, scattered light toning to interior (lightly touching a few letters of signature and inscription), otherwise a fine, tight copy.
