Shepard’s personal spiral-bound steno notebook used as a student at Admiral Farragut Academy, 6 x 9, signed twice on the cover (in his printed handwriting) “A. B. Shepard” with the date October 30, 1940; the interior includes a bound-in class schedule card, filled out by Shepard and signed at the top “Shepard, Alan B.” and dated September 25, 1940. The reverse of the schedule card bears several handwritten geometric formulas. Most of the pages are unused; however, the first page of the notebook bears several pencil notations in an unknown hand (very likely, but not indisputably, Shepard’s) including math calculations and some intriguing aviation-related references, including “Opt. Land gear” and “prop. Not to exceed...” The last page includes unsigned pencil sketches related to downhill skiing one captioned “Hoory for Frostsy.” In very good condition, with light creasing to cover (very subtle crease touching one signature), mild toning, and typical handling wear. COA Scott Cornish (confirming the cover and class schedule as being in the hand of Shepard, but inconclusive on the interior page notations and drawings) and R&R COA.
