Description

Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Chaplin as he appeared in Limelight, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “For Roy, Charlie Chaplin.” Scattered light surface marks and creases, and a few dings to edges, otherwise fine condition. Limelight was originally banned in the United States when it was released in 1952. The film's banning was ironic, given that it is the most apolitical of Chaplin's films from this period. It was not until 1972 that the film was finally seen in America, and Chaplin, Larry Russell, and Ray Rasch were awarded an Oscar for Best Original Dramatic Score. PSA/DNA Auction LOA and R&R COA.
