Decorated German World War I ace (1893–1946) who rose through the Nazi ranks to become head of the Luftwaffe and one of Hitler’s most trusted associates. While in his Nuremberg prison cell awaiting his sentence of death by hanging, Göring committed suicide with a cyanide capsule. Striking vintage matte-finish 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo of a jolly Göring with his hand on his hip, signed in indelible pencil with an additional inscription in German “Commander of the Fighter Squadron [of] Baron v. Richthofen.” Faint marginal bend and a very subtle suggestion of smudging to inscription, otherwise fine, crisp condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
